Qingdao International Seed Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint venture jointly established by Qingdao Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Kirin Brewery Co., Ltd., and Tokuda Seeds Co., Ltd. in 1990. In March 2025, the shares of Qingdao International Seed held by Qingdao Academy of Agricultural Sciences were transferred to Qingdao Guoxin Modern Agriculture Group Co., Ltd., a directly-administered enterprise of Qingdao City, under the Qingdao Guoxin Group. Currently, the Chinese and Japanese shareholders are Qingdao Guoxin Modern Agriculture Group Co., Ltd. and Tokuda Seeds Co., Ltd., respectively.
